Rook stood by the Barosaur corpse, ripping large chunks of flesh from it ravenously, the occasional rattling snarl coming from the predator in his shark-like feeding frenzy, the rich blue midday sky reflecting in a nearby pond, Microraptors leaping between the branches of nearby trees as a lone Archeopteryx, plumage decorated in rich streaks of dark blues, greens and scarlets, swooped down from a tree branch, pinning a young Compsognathus underfoot, head darting at the smaller creature's neck and twisting, killing it's prey instantly, as above, a large black and grey, Ornithocheirus streaked past, a large fish in it's toothed, orange and grey beak, having evidently just caught it from a nearby river, the pterosaur gliding towards a nearby rocky outcrop on a cliff face just beyond the treeline; the foot of one of the island's many mountains. the herbivores had long since left the area, and all that remained near the kill were the numerous species of predators that hungered for food, some of them having gone for as much as several days without a decent meal. for now, peace settled amongst the carnivores. but Rook had no doubt that once it started to show that there was less and less food to go round, fights would start to break out. he didn't care to stay around for the event. though at the rate he fed....he wouldn't need to...
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the island, Aurora stretched, cocking her head towards Xanthe curiously. "Where are the sub-adults we sent out yesterday? I noticed you left today. checked on them?" she inquired as she yawned, as the small feet of Blade could be felt scampering over her own, the female looking down to see Blade chasing after a grey dragonfly, which seemed a bit more than a little inept, swerving and slanting lazily through the air, probably an aged one, or at least, ill or injured...
Crusher stretched as he looked down at his kill. in the period between him finishing his meal and now, it felt as if all the food he had eaten had just disappeared, the weight of the food disappearing, leaving the Rex feeling energetic. for now, his hunger was satisfied, his mood pleasant....and his curiosity for the surroundings piqued. it was time to do some exploring. The young predator strode into the jungle, the emerald tint of the canopy turning his light grey and tan hide into a perfect blend of greens and browns, camouflaging him almost perfectly in the surroundings. and he was not alone. A troodon sat silently on a low lying branch, squashing itself as closely to the branch as possible, to avoid being seen, the young Rex silently arguing whether or not to scare the life out of the poor thing, eventually deciding against it, wanting to enjoy the peace of the forest around him. amidst the birdcalls and howling of monkeys in the treetops, a squeak sounded out, especially close overhead, Crusher glancing up as a Microraptor glided down from the tree branches, hitting the floor and bolting as fast as it's legs could carry it, an anurognathus on a nearby tree trunk staring wide-eyed at an iridescent blur swooped past, turning out to be an emerald and cyan dragonfly, the insectoid predator dashing through the air with a fierceness that reminded Crusher of the small, darting Raptors that roamed the world around him. in the trees, a silent hunter followed the young Rex, amber gaze watching him studiously, unusually interested in what he would do next...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
