All it really takes to get good is practice, practice, and more practice. Find a style of art you like and are comfortable with and...go nuts! XP The technique and personal style come with time. it's taken me most of my life to get to where I am now, and I still have a long way to go. You've really got to stick with it and be open to suggestions and improvement, and especially to criticism. Other people can spot the errors in your work more easily than the artist can.
As for drawings like this, maybe so. I kind of have to be in the right mood to draw them though, otherwise I give up on them and they sit on my computer until I finally delete them. XP
