"Yep. In fact, that was the first time he worked with me. By the end of that job everything had gone to hell. The entirety of the other team had been slaughtered by Raptors and other things, their gear wrecked and their escape plan sunk. As for David and I, things had continued to go smoothly since we split from the first group and followed our own plan. I had arranged an evacuation for myself before I started the job. Hadn't been planning to come out with any extra passengers, but David caught my eye. He was cool-headed and brutally efficient, like everyone else on my team. So I 'hired' him. Technically saved his life, considering it was his signing up with me that justified me flying him out of that hellhole" said the Mercenary with a chuckle. "But back to the topic, the second team had been massacred, and we were carving our way up to the roof of a raptor-infested lab facility on the island. I had rigged the base with explosives on my way in. Something called C4. Bloody potent stuff at the time. I had been formulating a contingency plan for the mission, since my employer didn't want anyone getting off the island alive. I knew that any survivor of the Raptor attack would come running when they heard my evac coming in, so I had to make sure nobody was left to tell the story. Long story short, I got up to the roof, jumped into the Helo with David in tow, then levelled the base with the C4. We were the only survivors of that mission, and the US Government finished the job with an ICBM when they realised they had lost the island and everyone they sent to get it back" he explained. "Ironic part is, David was the last to join, and last to leave my little Merc group. Lad even put down one of my older guys once when they went rogue and tried to kill me. Wouldn't've worked, sure, but the fact he stuck his neck out for me that one time, put himself in the line of fire, was something I never forgot. Though I do what I can to pay him back" he added with a smirk...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
