Nuka relaxed at the sound of a loner. She lowered her body down and began to groom herself, first starting to lick her claws clean of blood. "You mean that murderer and his partners in crime? No, I'm no friend of him and never will be," snorted the spinosaurus as she finished washing her claws. She continued grooming herself, ignoring the raptor in the bushes, that knowledge brought to her by her snout. When she finished with her daily routine, she curled up and lowered her massive jaws. She grunted softly,"You can have the rest of that deinosuchus. I can get another one when I need to...," before she fell asleep, her body rumbling as she slept.

Hellfire chuckled as he continued to walk, amused. That was probably the first time he'd had anything actually go to sleep while it knew he was there. First time for everything thought the Deinonychus as he pressed on. Not particular hungry, he left the giant to its sleep...

His hunger sated, Rook looked up to examine his surroundings, noting Erebus was once more approaching him, eerie snorts and grunts coming from the herbivore. Knowing his time was almost up, he pressed forth, quickly entering the tree-line, looking over his shoulder one last time to notice the Trike had stopped, though an eerie, bone-chilling snarl came from the ceratopsian, as if promising death should he ever have the misfortune to cross paths with him again...

Toklo and Blue walked along the river's edge, keeping an eye out for any large predators lurking around and in the water's murky depths. Every now and then they passed by washed up carcasses of fish and large amphibious creatures, which the crippled carnotaurus ate voraciously. As they continued down the shoreline, the two saw signs of large carnivores frequently passing by, mostly two distinct tracks always close to the other....

Kappy woke up with a start. She sniffed the air, scenting two dinosaurs by the shoreline not far from her. So, silently, she rose and padded off, carefully making sure her brother was asleep as she left. Then at a trot, she closed in on the two, curiosity flowing through her as she neared the two...

"Do you smell that?" growled Morphena as she walked, tilting her gaze to Crusher, who simply nodded. "Leftovers from a killing spree. It's a mix of scents...all super-predators...all allies of Thrasher's" rumbled the Rex calmly, stride after stride leaving a trail of three-toed prints in the earth behind him, the soft earth a testament to the moisture nearby. The scent of a flowing river mingled with the blood of predators of various species. "How're you so sure?" growled the dark green and grey female curiously. "Because I know them....and their killer" responded the Tyrannosaur calmly as he walked along the edge of the treeline, the ground growing coarse closer to the riverbank. "You've never encountered the Rogue Triceratops, have you?" he inquired with a grunt. "No, I can't say I have. They're fairly rare near the island's edge". "Well then, I suppose I have a story to tell you while we walk" rumbled Crusher with a smirk, stopping at a shallower part of the river, scanning for potential danger above and below the water's surface before chancing a drink...

Staco woke with a growl as he opened his eyelids, only to see a circle of crushed grass where his sister was. He roared loudly, annoyed with her as he began to follow her scent trial at a gallop, growling deep down in his throat.

Kappy bugled as she approached the two dinosaurs, both rexes. She smiled a toothy grin, completely unafraid of the two titans. "Hello there, strangers! Haven't seen you two here before," grunted the young kaprosuchus as she skipped a circle around the two, unaware she could be in serious danger.

A rumbling growl came from Crusher as he drank, a golden eye looking at her curiously as he lapped up the cool liquid, Morphena watching, an amused chuckle escaping the female. "Well this is new. You run into excitable little things like this often, Crusher?" she growled, cocking her head. Lifting his muzzle from the water, an amused grunt came in response. "No, I don't" he growled as he shifted his gaze to the small Kaprosuchus. "Where are your family?" he growled as a few rivulets of water ran down his chin, a rumbling sound reverberating in his throat...

"Oh, probably charging over here," rumbled the boar croc as she could scent the postosuchus nearing them rapidly. At that moment, Staco charged out, skidding to a stop in front of his little sibling. "What are you doing her," growled Staco, not noticing the two carnivores double his size to his right. He looked up and was taking aback at the two, a deep growl emanating from his throat as he watched the rexes closely, waiting for what they could do...

"...Family" growled Morphena, surprised. "Right" she added. Crusher, meanwhile, rose to his feet, shifting so he could look more directly at the newcomer. It was strange. The red and beige hide of the Postosuchus bore some similarity to the excitable Kaprosuchus at their feet, but it was quite clear they couldn't possibly be related. Then again, Darkness was a Raptor. And if asked before, Crusher would've just as readily introduced him the same way. Morphena, meanwhile, was dumbstruck, completely confused by the situation. It was only the casual calm of her companion that prevented her from trying to point out that that was impossible...

The armored croc snorted,"Its a long story." He whacked his sister's rump with his thick tail, telling her how annoyed he was at the moment. "So... what are two rexes like you two doing here. Hopefully not trying to take my territory," grumbled Staco, a chunk of threat thrown out with the last sentence.Kappy basically hopped on her toes as she peeped, "The names Kappy. And this grumpy ball of armor," she nipped the postosuchus behind his head," is Staco, my much bigger brother. And you two are...?"

"I...I think he just threatened us, Morphena" growled Crusher with a smirk. "True, Crusher, but does it count? We could probably eat him if we were hungry" responded the female, catching on to what was on the male's mind. "Suppose it's a good thing we aren't, then, hm?" rumbled the Rex as his gaze shifted to the Postosuchus. "As for why we're here...Well, let's just say we're taking a trip towards the centre of the island" rumbled the bull Tyrannosaur, his taunting smirk gone, tone rather more to the point...

"So your thinking about killing the notorious Thrasher," grunted the postosuchus, no hint of amusement in his voice. Kappy was taken aback by what her brother said, as shown by her shocked expression in her eyes. Staco continued, ignoring his kapro sibling. "If you need allies, you could try the two bipedals down the river: a spinosaurus and a therizinosaur. You'll gonna need all the help you can from what I heard from the compys." With that, he and his sister who was being shoved away, left the two rexes alone.

"....Well that was odd" growled Crusher, surprised. What made the postosuchus think he was going after Thrasher? "I'm still trying to figure out the part about the compies" responded Morphena. "Best not to dwell on it. I learned fairly quickly that you'll hear some strange things on occasion as you get closer to the middle of the island" rumbled Crusher as he straightened, the female taking a drink from the river herself as Crusher took over watch duty from her...

Toklo could the rexes from the shore. Worried, he nudged Blue Eyes awake with his foot. "Wake up. Rexes are in the area and I will not risk our lives," hooted the sauropod. He helped her up and quickly, the two headed away from the two titans, heading toward the mountains at an ever increasing their speed.

"So what's the story of this rogue Triceratops you mentioned?" rumbled Morphena, a couple of hours since they left the river. "His story's longer than I know. Ripper told me some details, but a lot of it's still unknown to me. Basically, that Trike was once part of a whole herd. A pack of Giganotosaurs managed to set off a stampede that forced them towards a cliff, most only realising when it was too late, killing most of them as a result. That trike was one of two survivors that decided to seek revenge. For well over a year they attacked the Gigas on sight, spoiling hunts, sometimes ambushing one when it was alone, until there was only one left" rumbled the Rex. "...You're pushing the limits of what I can believe, Crusher" responded the female sceptically. "I'm just telling you what Ripper told me. Whether it's true or not is something only he knows. Either way it makes for a good story" growled Crusher.

"Right. So what happened to the last Giga?" growled Morphena, tilting her head curiously. "The last one was a brute, the leader of the pack, and at this point, bitter and hateful, just as much hunting the Trikes as the Trikes were hunting it. They lured it to the same cliff the herd had been forced off, and began circling it as they pushed it closer and closer. When it was at the edge, they both charged forward, trying to drive it off the edge" explained the Tyrannosaur. "...And?" responded the female curiously. "The Giga stumbled and lost its footing, falling and sliding off the edge. But, as it was falling it bit onto one of them, dragging the Trike down with it in a final act of defiance. The survivor's been a loner ever since, and is apparently so hateful of carnivores that it will charge on sight, destroying anything stupid enough to get in its way" explained Crusher. At that, Morphena snorted, no longer able to keep a straight face. "And you believed that? Come ON. Ripper was obviously messing with you" she growled. "Eh. Whether he was or wasn't doesn't really matter. It is a good story if nothing else" growled the Rex with a smirk, earning a giggle for the female as she calmed down.

"To be fair though, at least part of the story checks out. Every single time I've seen it in the same area as a predator, be it Raptor or Rex, it has gone on a rampage, and hasn't stopped until everything nearby was dead. Its horns are permanently stained in blood at the tips. I've never seen then clean" he added. "Well then we'll have to be careful not to get in the way of the bloodthirsty, emotionally scarred Trike" added Morphena sarcastically, stifling a laugh as she walked. The sun was descending by now, the golden afternoon light filtering through the trees, shados growing longer as the sky burned with the flames of the dying daylight...

As her leathery eyelids opened, Nuka let out a deafening yawn. She looked around, groggy, and noticed that the carcass was untouched since raptor appeared. Smiling slightly, she rose to her feet and lumbered toward the dead croc. Gripping the meal in her jaws, she twisted her head in a quick movement, sending the deinosuchus flying into the trees. Grunting, she trudged into the river and swam away, toward the interior of the island, hoping for better hunting and people to fill this giant's life.
------------
As Toklo and Blue neared the mountains, they noticed strange markings on the boulders. "The markings," snorted the older shunosaurus,"Look to me like a pterosaur." "Really a pterosaur," hooted Blue skeptically. The sauropod shruged as the kept on lumbering closer and closer toward the top most cave.

As the sunlight began to fade, Crusher found himself walking through a ravine, a river running to one side of him, a steep incline to his other side, and on the other side of the stream. A low growl came from the Rex, his golden gaze scanning the glen warily as he pressed forward. Hunger was beginning to dig its claws into his chest, a groan escaping him as he walked. Most of the potentially satisfactory scents here were stale; a sign herbivores of any decent size were rare here. "You're not the only one" growled Morphena, knowing exactly how he felt, her own hunger no less uncomfortable than his. "This ravine doesn't last long, if memory serves. We should be through it fairly quickly" growled Crusher in response. "Good. Glad someone knows their way around. The farthest I'd ever been from home is two hours behind us. Everything here's completely new to me"

The female spinosaurus swam, heading toward the interior and keeping a look out for prey. As she neared a large inland lake she stopped. She could scent a herd of desmatosuchus wallowing by the shore only about two body lengths away from her. She headed straight for a group of mangroves to hide her sail as she closed in on her prey. After getting in-between the trees, she submerged, only letting her snout and eyes showing above the surface. As she neared the snuffling reptiles, she submerged the rest of her skull, keeping her from being detected by the creatures' keen sight. With a burst of energy, she rose out of the water, snatching a large male trying to gore her, unsuccessfully, with his shoulder spikes. With a powerful snap of her jaws, she crushed the armored lizard's spine, killing it painlessly. She went back underwater with her kill, leaving the panicked stricken demastosuchus at the shore.

As the Rexes pushed through the ravine, the smell of prey wafted on the breeze. They were definitely a species drawn to water; their scents were mingled with it. Crusher had no idea what they actually were, though. The scents were new to him. One other scent, however, made Crusher pause. "Spinosaur" growled the male lowly, eyes narrowing as he began to move more carefully, stepping as lightly as his massive form allowed. "Think it's hostile?" growled Morphena warily. "Most are. Some aren't though. I don't smell anything linked to Thrasher's allies or territory, so that's a start. Stay behind me. If we see it, stop. Watch it from a distance as I approach. If it's an ambush, you'll be able to take them by surprise while they're busy fighting me"...

The sailed giant clambered out if the water, her meal in her jaws. She was about two hundred feet downstream from where she attacked. She dropped her carcass on the sandy bank and ripped off it's fatty tail, holding in her jaws as she headed toward a warm, sunny spot near the tree line. She gorged on the flesh, enjoying its similarity in taste to that of her previous kill. Soon after feeding, she had eaten the whole chunk of flesh and was resting, her eyelids drooped as her sail absorbed the sun's rays, warming her body as she slept, her snout keeping an "eye" out for anything that scented of anything potentially dangerous...

Crusher pressed on, slowly, but steadily, keeping an eye on the stream, unaware of its depth and not willing to risk getting caught by surprise. The smell of blood had reached both the Tyrannosaurs, and their hunger made them that much more careful, knowing their senses were vulnerable to the trickery of hunger as they neared the source. Both he and Morphena were silent for the extent of the ravine's length, until finally, it began to level out, the stream growing wider as the sides became lower, levelling off as a forest took the place of the stony, moss-covered walls.

With the ravine's edge fading into the earth, the Rexes were made aware that darkness had not yet claimed the island. Glancing around, they could see the sun's last rays speckling the earth's surface before them as dusk overtook the island. Rich purple and orange hues covered the sky like the canvas of a cosmic artist, clouds forming rippling sheets of orange and red on the light blue-purple backdrop above, the first stars shimmering like diamonds. By now, most of the typical noise of the island's inhabitants had faded, and slowly, the nocturnal denizens began to sing their own tune. Up ahead, the source of the scent became visible, a few feet away from the resting Spinosaurus, seemingly basking in the final rays of daylight. At this distance, and in that position, there was no doubt it knew they were here. Crusher knew all too well how easily it was to detect the approach of other predators through the tremors that shook the earth with every stride. Afterall, he had used those same tremors himself to detect and escape predators that would otherwise have claimed his life. With the Spinosaur resting on the ground as it was, it would've felt the footfalls throughout its entire body.

Crusher tensed, ready to chase down and kill the Spinosaur if it showed signs of aggression. He knew the alternative was it escaping, and subsequently, Thrasher being tipped off to his approach. It was still a fair distance before he even approached the massive Spinosaur's territory, or even that of his allies. But a sufficiently spooked Spinosaur was well capable of covering that distance in a short amount of time...He could not allow that to happen...
