Nuka kept silent, unsure of what to say. All they had talked about seemed awkward and useless in this dangerous situation. She passed the time listening to the sounds of the creatures around the group.

The ceolo could figure out that nothing more was going to be said. So he began to slink back, starting to run back to his pack, where he hoped they would still be protected by Thrasher's allies.

Before long, Crusher and Morphena found themselves crossing a freshly marked border. Acrocanthosaurus. It seems Thrasher was faster than he seemed. "Nuka...How well can you fight?" growled Crusher quietly over his shoulder, eyeing the large Spinosaurus with inquisitive eyes. They both wanted Thrasher dead, but that meant nothing if they didn't have the skill to face him. And now, they were closing in on the first obstacle on the path to ridding the island of the massive Spinosaur...

A long, wailing roar tore across the plains on the edges of Thrasher's domain. It was a panicked cry quite uncharacteristic of the creature that it belonged to. The Spinosaurus ran, as fast as its size permitted, trying to get to the creature that owned the vast territory, the one thing on the island that could be compared to a sovereign over all others. flocks of birds scattered as the brown beast charged into the territory, hoping against hope that Thrasher was nearby. Strangely, Rake was nowhere to be found. The creature that was usually so watchful and so quick to appear at the most convenient and inconvenient of times, was now unseen...

"Enough to make a dent in anything that crossed our pass," growled Nuka as she clenched her claws, smelling the Acro also. She stood tall, checking the area for potential problems before they continued. She raised her skull high, hearing the wail that pierced the air. 'Oh no....' she thought, realizing that they were already found out.

A low snarl came from the Rex as he upped his pace. "Then let's not waste time. We kill anything that gets in our way" growled the Tyrannosaur. "Been waiting for this for a while" growled Morphena with a smirk as she tilted her head, a series of cracks being heard as she loosened up. At that moment, a gurgling roar came from the trees across the plain, a large, muscular looking Acrocanthosaur stepping out of the treeline. Faded orange scales were broken up by black and white bands running across its spine and bleeding into tigerstripe-like patterns on its flanks. Long, blade like teeth coated in blood lined its jaws, and a large jagged scar ran down one side of its muzzle and across an eye. It was half blind. At about 50 feet, it was a decently sized opponent, and its build implied significant physical power. It would not fall easily.

Crusher responded in kind with a booming, heart-stopping roar, the full power of a Tyrannosaur's bellow ringing out for miles, the first of its power and ferocity to be heard at the island's heart in sixteen years. In that moment, there was no questioning it. The Bloodline of Spectre was alive and well....and burning for revenge. The Acrocanthosaur snarled as it tilted its gaze to either side. Two more joined it, one a burnt shade of brown, looking as dark as the dead leaves of the forest floor, familiar black and white bands wrapping its hide. This one was younger than the other one, more vigorous, healthier. It was undoubtedly the faster, more dangerous fighter of the two. 46 feet of claws, jaws, muscle and hatred glared at the trio, eager to show its worth to its elders, and to the Spinosaur that had forced them into this mess.

The third was a pale, off-white scaled beast, pink eyes staring at the trio of predators with a bitter resentment. It was larger than the other two, probably close to 53 feet long. These three beasts were what had singlehandedly made the Acrocanthosaur family's lives a nightmare, Thrasher becoming harsh and commanding, threatening starvation or worse if they did not step forward to defend against the attackers...well...now this problem would be brought to an end....

Nuka let loose the roar she had held back for so long. All her hatred and anger rushed forth as the booming sound emanating from deep within. She eyed the largest of the three, knowing he would be a problem. She rolled her shoulders, prepping her long muscular arms for the battle. These three might be dangerous. This should get interesting,' thought the green spinosaurus as she snarled, ready for anything.

Almost immediately, the predators seemed to pair off, choosing a target and moving towards it as they split up. Crusher stepped forward, eyes locked on the scarred male, leaving the younger male to Morphena and the albino female to Nuka. The battleworn goliaths squared off, beginning to circle one another, Crusher slowly closing the gap between them, letting his presence, his stance, his glare, do the work for him. The fact the beast was wavering implied it knew exactly what it was looking at. A vicious snarl came form the beast as it lunged at the Tyrannosaur, hoping to take him by surprise and depending on battle experience to bring it victory, its hopes of a quick win shattered as Crusher's massive head swung across its own in response, the blow sending the Rex's opponent stumbling, massive blade like fangs glinting in the morning light as the Acrocanthosaur gurgled a threatening warning, claws splayed and fangs bared, trying to intimidate the Tyrannosaur whose burning glare stared back with just as much ferocity...

Morphena meanwhile, dropped low, her stance wide as she seized up her opponent. The younger of the three Acrocanthosaurs was feisty, eager for a fight and confident in its abilities. Deciding to use it against him, she began to back away, pulling him out of reach of his apparent parents. A vicious lunge was the smaller predator's response, countered with a sidestep that was surprising for a Tyrannosaurus Morphena's size. As the Acrocanthosaur tried to pull itself out of the resulting stumble, the Rex rammed it side on, sending it falling to the floor with a loud thump, dust and dirt being kicked up in its wake as the female turned to face her opponent, a low, menacing growl reverberating in her throat, an equal match for any other predator there.

The Albino female however was much more cautious. Be it out of a deep-drilled fear of Spinosaurs or sheer combat experience, she was careful not to underestimate her opponent. Baring her blade like fangs, she began to circle, trying to pull Nuka away from the Rexes, knowing that at least one of them would be quick to end their fight at this rate, and knowing that the resulting intervention would be her doom if she was not careful and quick. A harsh rasping snarl came from the female, jaws snapping shut loudly, a reminder of what would happen should the Spinosaur make the mistake of falling into her jaws...

Nuka growled, keeping her eyes on the albino. This one seemed like a dangerous opponent who, if the spino were to make a mistake, could end her life with a single bite. She knew she couldn't allow herself to slip up and injure herself. Snarling, she lunged toward, drawing back before hr snout could get bit off. After the mock, she waited, waiting for the ridged carnivore to make a move...

The Albino seemed wise to the move, snarling and pulling back just slightly, but not countering the move. Instead, the female seemed intent on coaxing the Spinosaur out for a second attack. talons flexed and jaws parted as the Acrocanthosaur stalled. She knew Thrasher undoubtedly could hear the commotion. Before long, he'd either send someone to make sure the intruders were stopped, or come himself to see them flayed alive. The intruders' time was limited, but the Acrocanthosaurs' was not...they just had to hold the Rexes and Spinosaur back...

Crusher's opponent has similarly grown wise to the situation. He knew at this point that trying to shock the larger Rex into making a stupid mistake was a dangerous risk. It was easier to force Crusher to come to him. He hadn't been expecting Crusher to be so quick to oblige, however. With a snarl, the Tyrannosaur lunged, looking for all the world as though he intended to bite the Acrocanthosaur in half. Rearing up, the Acrocanthosaur tried to counter the Rex's attack with its own. Only the attack never came. In a split second of terror, the Acrocanthosaur threw itself to the side, intentionally chancing a fatal injury to evade the Rex's second, very real attack. Crusher's massive jaws slammed shut, missing by a hair's width, saliva dotting the Acrocanthosaur's neck as a horrifying reminder of how close it had come to being killed, an angry, rattling snarl coming from the Tyrannosaur as a warning roar came from the Acrocanthosaur, as if voicing its distress to its companions. No help would come however. The other two were busy fighting for their own lives...

Morphena watched as the younger Acrocanthosaur studied her carefully, aware of its fear. It had made a mistake that would've killed it had it not rolled back to its feet just in time. The Tyrannosaur was testing it, and it was increasingly aware of how mismatched its experience was before the female. Morphena lunged suddenly, the Acrocanthosaur running in an attempt to circle the female, making use of its position to get out of the way, unsuccessfully. A lance of pain shot through the carnivore's back, starting at the tail and spreading outwards. Morphena's jaws were latched firmly onto the top of the Acrocanthosaur's tail, thrashing violently as the predator twisted, its tail slamming against her and knocking her loose, a lucky move from an animal that was surprisingly compromised. Backing away, they began to circle once more. The first blood of the fight had been spilled, Morphena's tongue tracing along her bloodied fangs with a low growl...

As the scent of fresh blood snaked its way into Nuka's nostrils, she pounced, slashing her arms at the acrocanthosaurus's flank, her teeth bared in a snarl. She was in kill mode, ready to go whatever damage she could to kill the carnivore. She roared, slamming her body into the acro, toppling the white theropod to the ground. She began to circle the albino, eyeing it with a malevolent intent, ready to spill the beast's guts in an instant..

After the slash, the Acrocanthosaur was prepared. The ram, while powerful, hadn't been enough to knock the pale predator to the ground, instead being countered by the beast's own hefty build, a counter ram stopping the Spinosaur dead in its tracks, claws scoring down the piscivore's hide, matching the Spinosaur's own attack, though on a smaller scale. A snarl escaped the Acrocanthosaur as it pulled back, putting more space between itself and the Spinosaurus. Claws splayed and jaws parted once more, the predator was ready for an attack this time...

Morphena continued to press her target, keeping uncomfortably close, trying to scare her foe into action. So far, it was doing a good job of keeping itself alive, extremely wary and careful not to rush into the jaws of the Tyrannosaur before it. For now at least, it was a waiting game. Morphena knew these were not major threats compared to what they would face later. She had to be careful not to hurt or tire herself out before they got to Thrasher, and the companions he would no doubt use to try and gain an advantage...

Crusher had no such reservations. His colours had grown more vibrant, greys turning black, browns growing darker and richer, his beige underside turning nearly off-white, light brown patterns along his flanks brightening and gaining an almost iridescent texture; the trait that had made his father infamous. The Rex's eyes were now a dark orange-red, a sliver of rich yellow outlining narrowed pupils, the terrifying glare of the Rex unnerving his opponent even more as the Rex pressed his offence. Growling loudly, the male lunged forward, the Acrocanthosaur once again trying to evade. This time however, it had failed. A sickening crunch sounded out for all to hear as a loud roar came from the predator, the ripping of flesh audible as Crusher pulled away, tearing off one of the predator's arms with a vicious snarl. He watched as the Acrocanthosaur backed away, horrified at this turn of events, only able to watch as Crusher ate the limb whole, a low growl rumbling in his throat as its blood coated his fangs. Panic began to set in. It was wavering. But Crusher knew they were short on time...he would have to up the pace...

The Spinosaurus had finally found Thrasher. The massive Spinosaurus was standing amidst a clearing, massive trees casting a dark shade over the area, shimmering yellow eyes glowing eerily in the dark as the giant looked down at the frightened predator, his hide one with the plantlife around him, the same mottled green making him difficult to see even despite his massive size. "The Rex! Crusher! He's here! And he's not alone!" hissed the Spinosaur, out of breath. A low, rough growl responded to it, an unamused Thrasher looking down at the smaller predator irritably. "Yes, that is what they're saying. I've tended to the matter already. Out of curiosity though, who's with him?" rumbled the giant in a chilling calm. "Nuka. And another Rex I've never seen before" hissed the other predator lowly. "I heard that treacherous minnow-eater was back. She should've stayed in that swamp and died like a good little girl. I'll see to it she learns how great a mistake it was to show her face here again...As for this other Rex...We'll soon see how much Crusher likes the sight of his comrade in pain" rumbled the behemoth. "Go find Rake. I want his Troodon friends to fill me in on what they've gathered of Crusher's kin...It's time I squashed this pest and everything he holds dear" hissed Thrasher as he turned and headed back to one corner of the dark clearing, the smaller Spinosaur nodding as it left the giant in peace. As it left, it realised there were several pairs of glowing eyes watching in the dark....Thrasher's closest kin and comrades were there, watching....waiting. It was little wonder the Spinosaur was so calm. His den was impenetrable...The Rexes would die, and Nuka along with them....long before they even got the chance to lay a fang or claw on the predator...

Nuka could barely feel the slashes as she imitated the acro, her jaws wide open as she launched her next attack. She pounced as quick as a croc attacking prey and seized the albino's neck, her fangs digging deep into the creature's throat. She dug her claws into the beast's shoulders, trying to force the slightly smaller carnivore to the ground. She glanced at the rexes while they fought, and for a split second she was not focused on the acrocanthosaurus, her grip slightly loosed.

Talons sank into the Spinosaur's neck as the Acrocanthosaur thrashed violently, pulling out of the piscivore's grip. In a burst of rage the female lunged forward almost the instant it was free, jaws clamping shut on Nuka's arm, intent to try and shred it, or rip it out entirely...

A bellowing roar came from the eldest of the three as it lunged at Crusher, the Tyrannosaur twisting to one side as he sidestepped the attack, finally getting the opening he needed. A harsh, hair-raising snarl came from the Rex as he lunged, massive jaws finding purchase s they sank into the vulnerable Acrocanthosaur's neck, the animal only realising in its final split second that it had made a fatal mistake. A loud, horrifying crunch filled the air as Crusher bit right through its neck vertebrae, the entire animal going limp as its life was ended in an instant, Crusher tossing his kill to the side with a violent growl as he immediately turned to Morphena. The female's opponent lost focus for a split second as it saw its father slain by the Scarred Tyrant, never realising it had thrown its own life away, Morphena lunging for the neck and biting down, the Acrocanthosaur scrambling to get free as she choked the life out of her opponent, dragging it down to the floor, the carnivore stumbling as it lost balance, falling to its side and kicking, thrashing in an attempt to try and get free, to no avail. The fight had been decided...

Nuka bellowed in pain as the albino acrosaur bit her large arm. Frantic, she slammed her one free clawed hand into the predator's skull, sinking her claws deep. She roared, clamping her jaws onto the acrocanthosaurus's neck, shaking her head side to side, trying to snap the theropod's spine as it began to slowly crush her arm.

A bellowing roar came from the Acrocanthosaur as it thrashed, tearing deep gashes in the SPinosaur's arm before finally being forced to let go, the predator trying to slip free of the Spinosaur's grip as Morphena finally let go of her kill, blood spilling freely from its neck as it bled out. It wasn't dead yet; only unconscious from lack of air, but at the rate it was bleeding, it wouldn't be long before the creature took its last breath. Crusher, meanwhile, had turned to Nuka, ready to bring down the predator if the Spinosaur could not. Time was short. They had to end this quickly...

Nuka, though wounded, would not give up that easily. She roared, biting down harder on the acrocanthosaurus's neck, biting down harder as she began to crush the beast's spine, both her arms latched onto it's side. She shoved her muscular arms toward, shoving the acro back, her jaws clamped down as the creature's weight was used against it...

A low groan came from the albino Acrocanthosaur as she tried to regain her footing, pushing a leg to one side to counteract the Spinosaur's actions as it twisted and struggled, trying to break free. In this position, the tall-spined carnivore wasn't able to do much, and ultimately, it was only a matter of time. A final thrashing attempt to break free proved to be its downfall however, as its leg slipped, the carnivore toppling, neck snapping with a sickening pop as the body went one way and the head another, dislocated by the combination of its own weight and the Spinosaur's grip, the once mighty predator falling to the floor, dead. Crusher meanwhile, had already begun making his way towards Thrasher's territory, lips curled in a frightening snarl as he advanced, Morphena close behind...

The wounded spinosaurus spat blood onto the albino's side, speckling it with crimson red spots. She lumbered toward the rexes, a bit slower do to her injuries. She cursed herself for taking so long on the fight when they had a limited amount of time before Thrasher advanced. She picked up her pace, falling in step with Morphena, smiling slightly. "That was some good fighting. Too bad I had us a bit behind schedule," grumbled the sailed giant as she stared down at the ground, watching her clawed feet.

"Don't worry about it. That one was the big one. And from the way I saw it acting, it was probably the most experienced, or at least, the one that kept the most level head. Crusher's opponent looked spooked and disorganised. It must've recognised him. You could smell the fear on it. And mine was honestly still young. It was almost too easy to lure it into a fatal move" responded Morphena with a gentle smile. "Don't get too comfortable with your opponents' skill levels though. Thrasher's allies have been thinned out, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have some really skilled ones watching out for him. Things'll only get tougher from here" rumbled Crusher as he tilted his head, letting one eye rest on the two as he continued walking. At this point, they were on Thrasher's own borders...They had passed the protective ring. Now it was just a matter of finding the Spinosaur and killing him...before he did the same to them...

She nodded, comforted by the reassurance that her opponent was highly skilled. But one thing was bugging her while she was licking her wounds as she trudged on. 'What will happen if Thrasher's allies joined him during the fight' she thought in concern as she growled quietly, trying to put off her fear.

The trees once more engulfed the three predators as Crusher forged on, the Scarred Rex focused on the environment around them. In the aftermath of the fight, all was silent. The forest was quiet, almost peaceful. Were it not for the knowledge of where they were and what they were doing, one could almost believe this was a paradise. That a a peaceful refuge from the rest of the world existed among these massive trees, beneath the green filtered light of the forest canopy, the fallen, moss and vine covered tree trunks, the splashing flow of streams and the occasional observer in the form of a Compsognathus, an Ornitholestes or a lone capuchin or howler monkey. It was a fragile peace at best; one that would be shattered whenever a growl or snarl was heard, whenever the crack of snapping tree branches or the crunch of a rotten log pierced the silence...
