As soon as the captains were back to their ships, they started to call out various orders to their crew. They would be reaching the French Port soon...

James rushed out on deck when he heard Yuke's call of "Sail Ho!". he took out his spyglass and zoomed in on the target as much as possible. it was a red, satanic looking ship, with the Grim Reaper as a figurehead, and what looked like the devil's horns decorating the stern of the ship. he saw that the officers of the ship were all wearing red robes, and the apparent captain wearing a darker red robe than the officers. he saw skulls lined up on a shelf near the stern of the ship. he also saw there was a cage being lowered into the cargo hold....with children inside. James said "Animals....even pirates wouldn't imprison children in a cage like that...these must be those Animists i heard about at Tortuga's tavern last time i was there....and that must be the Mephisto....". he commanded his crew to pull in the guns; he didn't want to fire at the ship while the children were still on board...even he couldn't kill an innocent child. he decided he'd lure the animists to him, making himself appear as a helpless French merchent. luckily, his sails had been changed to plain white the day before, so there wasn't much chance of recognizing the ship as the legendary Black Pearl. he sent Rainbow to Yuke and Adeline to let them know of what was planned....he'd make the Animists board him, and surrender....only to turn on them and hack them to pieces with crew hiding in the various cabins and storage rooms on board...

Adeline observed the sinister looking ship and looked in horror at the children in the cage. This angered her. She was about to order her crew to draw out guns, when suddenly there was a signal sent by James of his plan. She nodded and decided to go along with his plan...

the Mephisto sailed towards the Pearl, unknowing of the legend that floated in front of them. the struck sail and came to a stop close t the side of the ship. by now, most of the crew were hiding, prepared to attack when James gave the signal. he had made himself look like a french merchant, and went out to "greet" them. the entire crew of the Satanic frigate came out in front of him, and one yelled "Where's the crew?!". James said "I am saving money by keeping the cghew down to a minimoom". the leader, in a darker red robe than the others, came on deck, and said "Who do you worship?". James replied "Ze sea devil. who do you sink i woghship?!". the whole time, James was waiting for Yuke and Adeline to show up, pretending to be the other leaders of the trade convoy....preparing for the attack. James had told 2 of his men to sneak aboard, and see if they could free the children before James revealed himself....

Adeline's ship was fully ready to show up. She told the crewmen to hide around the ship so that they won't be suspected of everything. Before showing up, Adeline went to her cabin to change into some clothes that would look merchant-like. As she walked toward the wardrobe, she spotted a red rose on top of her desk. "Probably from one of the crewmembers...it's very beautiful." She picked it up and took in the scent of the beautiful flower before once again going on to change.

Three minutes later, she was fully changed into some clothes which look to be like she was a merchant. She walked out of her quarters and noticed that they were there. Allen was steering the ship for her while she was off in her quarters. The woman decided it was a good time to make herself known. "Wat es going on zhere," she shouted in her best french accent.

James listened to the whispered message of the crewmember, and decided that he would drop one of his rings, and bend down to get it, to give Yuke a clear shot, as well as a signal to attack. he slipped the ring off while conversing with the satanic frigate's captain, then said "Excuse me. my ghing has dropped. i must pick it up". he knew it was a bad imitation, but it was good enough to fool the satanic crew, and he got down to pick up his ring...

Adeline saw James duck, but thought nothing queer about until Yuke sent off a shot. She quickly pulled out her pistol from her belt and started to shoot too at one of the robed members of the sinister ship. "That must've been the signal..."

at that, James got up again, his sword having been drawn while the attention was on the robed figure in front of him, who fell to the ground, dead. James moved forward, having put on his ring long before the shot was made. he thrust his blade into the chest of one of the Satanists or Animists or whatever they were, and pierced his heart. he then drew his pistol and fired a shot into the face of one of the robed figures who was charging at him. at the same time, the crew had come out of the hiding places, and were destroying the opposition. Will and Elizabeth were among them, complimenting eachother nicely as they chopped, thwacked and knocked out dozens of the robed men. James drew his sword from another man's chest, and swung it into the head of yet another man, beheading him, and leaving him to fall to the ground uselessly. James unloaded another shot in the grenade of one of the robed figures charging at him, which caused it to blo up in his hand and kill him...

Adeline started to fight the robed satanists with vicious effort. Her sword went slicing and dicing through the stomachs and arms of them. She parried their attempted attacks at her as best as she could and tried her best trying to get them at their exposed points.

James was now swinging away at the robed men, who were dropping like flies around him, his crew far outmatching them. him, Adeline and Yuke, along with their respective crews, had now managed to push the robed men back, and down to the lower decks. James' blade was clanging louding against the blades of the robed men. he drew his second, considerable weaker pistol, out of it's small sheath, and fired, the shot hitting a robed man in the eye. he continued to fight, occasionally getting a laugh when he saw Ragetti and Pintel fighting the robed men together...

It seemed as though they were going to win, that they had the upper hand. Adeline wondered when this battle would be finally over and wondered about the poor children locked in the cage. They had to save them somehow...but her mind also wandured to the flower that still lay on her desk. She wondered who could have possibly given her such a fine gift...clearly not James or Yuke, for they were not on her ship. It was someone on her ship. It had to be someone on her ship. She doubted it was Allen either, because they thought of each other as friends. All of this deep thinking slowly pulled her away from the battle before her and the captains. She was not brought back until she felt a pain in her left arm. Her eyes swiftly looked at the cut that was left upon her arm. It was not very deep, but it did sting. She attacked back with all of her might, slashing another one of the robed figures.

James and the others had finally fought their way to the Captain's cabin, where the leader of the robed men was waiting. James said "Hand over the children, or risk being killed". the Robed leader said "You cant kill me, you foolish pirate. i am immortal. i could kill you with a flick of my wrist". James looked at him, and said "Prove it. you have a monkey next to you. kill that". it was Jack the Monkey, Barbossa's pet and James' target practice for the last few months. the Robed man smiled, and flicked his wrist. the monkey ws sent flying across the room, and slamming into a wall. it dropped to the floor, got up, and shook it's head. it looked around in confusion, wondering what had done that. James said "Hmm...impressive. not as effective as an aztec curse, apparently". the robed figure looked at the monkey in confusion, and said "h..h...how did....how did it survive that?! that trap was set to kill!". James said "ahaaa....a trap, eh? quite surprizing that a man who has magical powers and is immortal would need traps to kill a monkey...". James then pointed his now reloaded gun at the robed man's face. Ragetti, Pintel, Gibbs and a couple of other crew members did the same. James said "Now...tell me....where'd you take the children from? answer fast". the Robed man said "Is...Is...Santo Domingo....". James said "Is Santo Domingo? never heard of it. Where'd you take the children from?". the Robed leader said "Alright alright. i'll tell you! Isla Muella! now please, get that strange man to stop rolling that eyeball of his around!". James looked over at Raggeti to see him making his wooden eyeball roll around in all sorts of directions, making for a rather scary face. James decided to scare the man a bit more, and slapped Ragetti on the back of the head, sending his eye rolling onto the floor. the eye rolled over towards the man's feet, making a high pitched squeal escape his mouth. the crew laughed as Ragetti got down on his knees and chased his eyeball, scaring the man even more. James said "Where did you get the children from!?". the Robed man, terrified, yelled "Port au Prince! i got them from Port Au Prince! now PLEASE get this creature away from me!". the crew roared with laughter as the man started to squeal even more as the eye ball followed him to the other corner of the cabin as the ship tilted, with Ragetti in hot pursuit...

Adeline laughed along with the crew and shook her head at Ragetti's attempts to get the eyeball. But her mind kept going back to the children. Were they ok and would they get to them in time? She glanced at James and whispered. "Let's do away with this man and be on our way to get the children." It was clear that she held a strong dislike for the robed captain.

James nodded, and looked at the Robed Captain, and said "Well, my dear Cap'n, I'm afraid your worthless to me now, so im afraid i have nothing left to say to you. Tell Davy Jones i said Hello!". he then pulled his main golden double barreled pistol out and shot the man, the shot hitting him square between the eyes. James smiled and said "Goldy! Deadeye! bring in the children!". at that, 2 pirates, one whose mouth contained a set of gold teeth, the other having a black eyepatch, behind which was a plain grey eye, came in with 5 young boys, and a teenager, probably only 13 years old, who were obviously French. James said "Well look what we have here. do you want to see your parents again, kiddies?". the 2 backed away from him slightly, and James looked at Adeline, whose presence had soothed the children a bit. James said "Take these kids aboard the ship and make sure they are fed Immediately. make sure they have water, not rum, got it? and make sure they have some lemons. a couple of them look like they might be coming down with Scurvvy soon". the 2 crewmen nodded, and they led the boys away. James said "Well mates, loot everything on the ship that's worth something, and then light a gunpowder trail leading to the gunpowder room on THIS ship. remember, THIS ship, mates, not ours. we need that to collect a handsome ransom from the governor of Port Au Prince". a crew member looked at James and said "Ransom, Cap'n?". James said "Well, these men were either kidnappers wanting some money in return, or were doing something else. assuming they were the former, there will be a ransom, which will come in the form of a reward when we hand the children in". Raggetti said "Me eye!", as he had finally gotten hold of it. he put it back into his empty eyesocket, and started looking around the room for a better substitute. The crew laughed at his exclamation a bit, before starting to move around looking for loot. James walked off to the Noire Diamant [the Pearl's French cover name], the battle havig messed him up, made him thirsty, and given him a couple of small scratches on his chest...
